THE ARTIST PORTRAYAL & EVOLUTION OF THE GLOUCESTER FISHING FLEET, by Don Demers

A talk about the history of the Gloucester fishing fleet, the evolution of its fishing craft, and how it has been portrayed in paintings over the decades. From Fitz Henry Lane to Jeff Weaver and all in between. This will be illustrated by paintings, historic photos, and drawings done for the audience by Don Demers.

THE CAPE ANN SCHOOL OF ART by T.M. Nicholas and Stapleton Kearns

T.M. Nicholas and Stapleton Kearns have spent most of their lifetimes studying the artists of the Cape Ann School of painting. Together they will present a slideshow of the Cape Ann artists in the "golden years." They will discuss and tell stories about Aldro Hibbard, Lester Stevens, Emile Gruppé, Anthony Thieme, Jane Peterson and more while showing the art they made.

THE BUSINESS OF ART by Cindy Baron and Harley Bartlett

This talk will cover standard income sources for artists, such as galleries, commissions, and teaching. We’ll think outside the box and discuss the potential of designers, design firms, and more commercialized approaches. We’ll also review business practices, insurance, forms of agreement, and so forth.
