Meg Lustig Allen, One Dock Square owner and artist, has art in her genes. Surrounded by working artists from birth, her grandfather, Max Kuehne was an American Impressionist, gilder, furniture maker and sculptor. His studio was both in NYC and Rockport, MA. Her father, curator/director at West Point Museum, followed in Kuehne’s footsteps, designing and building gilded furniture and sculpting custom pieces – usually exotic animals. Meg’s mother was an illustrator and watercolorist.
After spending 30 years in the world of “high-tech” she made the decision to take destiny into her own hands and return to “the childhood place of her heart”, Rockport, MA, a town long for its artistic heritage. It was then that Canterbury Hill Studio and Gallery (located at 41 Main Street) was born in 2012. An eclectic mix of fine art and craft, the gallery presents the work of around 50 artists in addition to her work.
One Dock Square was born in June of 2021, when she moved the business “down the hill” to the new location. This location continues to present an eclectic mix of fine art and craft, but no longer houses her studio.
Meg looks forward to sharing her gallery with you!
