Lanes Coven is an actor-driven theater company fast growing into the North Shore's Premiere Outdoor Shakespeare company. We present reinvigorated classics with dance theater and rock&roll lighting, to the Greater Cape Ann community and its visitors. We are committed to low cost experiences everyone can enjoy.
This summer we present our biggest season yet, Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST June 30-July 9, and Shakespeare's ROMEO & JULIET August 4-20, all outdoors at Windhover in Rockport, MA
Windhover has a large stage, covered by a large performance tent. We perform rain or shine unless of course there’s a very bad storm ...Parking & restrooms available at Windhover, and ADA accessibility
Returning to Lanes Coven for IMPORTANCE is Arthur Wise, who many will remember from Taming of the Shrew!! IMPORTANCE also stars comedian Patrick Andrew Jones of NYC, and Lanes Coven artists Justin Genna, Max McNamara and Michael McNamara.
ROMEO & JULIET stars Lily Narbonne (Lanes Coven Co-Artistic Director, ''Julia'' on HBOMax, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew), Eryn O'Sullivan (Lanes Coven's Macbeth) and new this year to the coven, Lisa Ann Porter and Richard McElvain.
Lanes Coven is a recipient of local grants from the Gloucester Cultural Council and Rockport Cultural Council this year. And we also received one of the Pandemic Recovery Grants from the Mass Cultural Council, intended to revive the cultural sector of Massachusetts, and we're honored to be included.
Collaborators include Dogtown Books, Morgan Dyer Art, MAGMA. We rehearse at the Lanesville Community Center.
