The Museum is located in the heart of downtown Gloucester, one block north from Main Street and one short block east of City Hall and the Sawyer Free Library. Metered parking is available in the public lot across from the Museum. Gloucester is also easily accessible by public transportation on the MBTA commuter rail, which connects Cape Ann directly with the greater Boston area and beyond. From Boston's North Station, take the Newburyport/Rockport line to the Gloucester stop; the Museum is a short walk (0.4 miles) from the train station

Explore the new Cape Ann Gallery, from Samuel de Champlain's 1613 Les Voyages map to the cannon ball that was lodged in the steeple of the First Parish (Unitarian) Church to Marsden Hartley's haunting paintings of Dogtown. The Cape Ann Galery tells the story of Cape Ann and the history of the Cape Ann Museum collection. Space is limited; first come first served. This program is free for members or with Museum admission. There will be two tours offered - the first is at 12:30 p.m. and the second at 1:30 p.m
