Description
The Festival closes with a bit of drama and poetry, featuring French hornist Radovan Vlatkovic, who served as principal horn of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. This concert highlights Poulenc’s dramatic, yet with a jovial flair, Sextet for piano and winds, Schubert’s “Notturno” Trio and Dohnányi’s Sextet, Op. 37, which is described as having the whimsey of Gershwin with the grandness of Brahms and Mahler.
