The North Shore Arts Association invites the public to celebrate a solo exhibition of artworks by Rocky Forsyth. On display from June 11 – June 24 in our Hallway Gallery, Rocky’s background as an outdoorsman and intimate understanding of nature brings a certain aliveness to his works on paper and his intricate wood carvings of waterfowl. The reception will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 1PM - 3PM in our Gordon Grant Room. Light fare and beverages will be provided. Free and open to the public!
Rocky Forsyth is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Montana. He began his work life as a cowboy and grew up loving the natural world of wildlife around him. At forty, he began to develop a passion for carving waterfowl, and, in the past fifteen years, has shown his detailed carvings in various galleries in New England. In recent years, Rocky’s passion has turned to watercolor. While continuing to focus on birds in migration, on hunting and fishing, he also enjoys capturing pastoral farm scenes and seascapes near his homes in Vermont and Rockport, MA.
The North Shore Arts Association is located at 11 Pirate’s Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930. For more information about events please call (978) 283-1857 or email arts@nsarts.org. Visiting hours are Monday – Saturday, 10AM – 5PM, and Sundays 12 – 4PM.
