For more than a half century, the world has been blessed with the hauntingly beautiful voices of South Africa's iconic singing group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The Zulu-based ensemble – known for their distinct isicathamiya style of a cappella singing which combines powerfully strident vocals with intricate harmonies and dynamic coordinated dance moves– have been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards (winning four). This year marks the 30th anniversary of their historic collaboration with Paul Simon on his revered Graceland album, a partnership which helped launch Ladysmith Black Mambazo into worldwide acclaim.
