     Rivers and Roads Dec. 2nd Grand Opening and Holiday Festival

10:00-5:00         

Grand Opening and Fresh Christmas Tree Sale

Gifts, Christmas Trees, Hot Cider, Art Show, activities for kids and personal help selecting gifts.  Find hand selected gifts for young and old...from artisans around the North Shore, the country, and even across the pond. Two of our painters will be here painting live at different points in the day and live music at times between the special events for kids:

For Kids

Nutcracker Storytime,Craft Dance Lesson and Performance - meet at the table in the store. Dance instructor, Leza Milham, owner of Creative Arts Dace Conservatory in Essex will be reading the story of the Nutcracker, teaching a dance piece from the ballet, and making a craft to use as a prop in the performance.

“The Tomten and the Fox”Storytime, Craft, and Search- meet at the table in the store A Swedish Folk Tale by Astrid Lindgren come to life. Learn about Scandinavian gnomes, called Tometens and look for the one that lives at Rivers and Roads.

A Look Back at a Christmas Past -Story and Craft time- meet at the table in the store Listen to the picture book version of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House in the big woods.  Make an old time decoration for you to bring home and put on your tree.  Parents and Kids both invited.

For Adults

 

1:00-3:00

Bring your Holiday nutrition questions to our partner nutritionist, Marnie Lawler and/or your life’s questions to a favorite Town Vicar, Tim Ziegenhals. They will be at the table inside the store.
