Description

The Museum will be free all day to offer the public a final chance to see the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge Doors before they get reinstalled on the bridge this fall. The bronze doors, designed by sculptor John F. Paramino (1889–1956), were cast at the T. F. McGann & Sons foundry in Boston in 1950. They were removed from the bridge toward the end of 2014 for much need conservation work, then went on temporary display at the Museum in April 2015. This was the first time in over half a century that the public has had the opportunity to view the doors up-close.
