Join Gloucester Writers Center & Gloucester Stage Company on Friday December 1st at 7:30pm at Gloucester Stage for the 5th annual Fish Tales. It started out as an idea. An adaptation of an idea to be exact. A local storytelling program at the Gloucester Writers Center because at heart every writer is a storyteller. In fact, each day we tell stories about where we’ve been, what we’ve seen, and who we’ve talked to – all with additional color and flare, seriousness and humor, love and affection. We hosted the first Fish Tales, MOTH-like program, with the theme: Hook, Line and Sinker- six to seven people showed up. Over the last five years, Fish Tales has grown from a cozy storytelling evening at the GWC to a sell out performance at the Gloucester Stage Company. We have a fan base. People tell us that Fish Tales is their favorite event in Gloucester because it showcases real people, telling true stories from the heart. Our storytellers are vulnerable, ready to share, funny and honest, and our enthusiastic audience reminds us that it is a joy and privilege to sit and listen to someone else’s life for a while.
